The best thing to do is to find a facility with a reputable coach/trainer in your area. You can do this by using a search engine of some type on the internet such as Google, Yahoo, etc. Type in MMA or BJJ, and your city or a larger city near you and check out your results. I advice checking out different schools, sit in on a free class and talk to other students about how they feel. You want to choose a school where you are comfortable and feel you are capable of learning. You want to surround you around good people.
Send a self adressed and stamped envelope with the merchandise/picture included or I have 8X11.5" pictures i can autograph i just need the sent envelope to put it inside to ship back.
The adress to send to is 4631 Johnson Road suite 1
Coconut Creek, Florida 33073
The best bet to find out when my next fight is, is to continuously check the page and my blog entries. I will most definitely let everyone know as soon as I know when the next time I'm fighting will be.
Getting into the UFC or any other major mixed martial arts organization takes years of hard and intense training. After joining an MMA gym, your instructor is most likely the one who decides you are ready for an amateur or professional bout. Once you start fighting its really up to you. As long as you have a successful professional record and beat certain fighters who are considered to be "prospects", that is the best route to get yourself noticed by the UFC, WEC, Strikeforce, DREAM, or any other major mixed martial arts organization.
I train with the #1 MMA team in the world , American Top Team (ATT). There are many ATT affiliates but i train at the main facility in Coconut Creek, Florida. (americantopteam.com)
I currently also instruct at the Boca Raton, Florida location.(bocamma.com)
I also train and teach frequently at RUSH MMA in Macon,Georgia.(rushmma.com)
1.Train as hard as you possibly can. Train a lot and compete as often as possible. Try to do every kind of sport possible boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
2.Also, there will be many people who try to tell you that you won't be able to accomplish your goals. You have to ignore these people as motivation to complete your goals and rub it in their face.
3.Finally, keep the people who actually support you in your quests close to you. These people are far and few between.
My first encounter with mixed martial arts happened back in 1993, when Royce Gracie showed the world that the smaller guy can win, and that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was the most effective martial art in the world. I played baseball my whole life and never trained any martial arts until i was 19 years old, while i was working at a bagel bakery and attending college. A friend of mine, who came into my work, had two black eyes. I asked him about what happened to him and he told me he trained mma. I was a huge fan so i knew what that meant and began training. Four months later I had my first MMA fight and havent stopped since.
