Miller vs. Pearson official !

It's official. On September 15, 2010 I am going to take on British, Ultimate Fighter winner, Ross Pearson. The fight will take place on UFC's Ultimate Fight Night 22 in Austin Texas. Ross is primarily a striker and has improved remarkably with every fight going 3-0 in the UFC since his stint on the ultimate fighter. This Fight comes after my last victory over dan lauzon at UFC 108 , where i nailed submission of the night honors and is sitting right now at the UFC's top submission of the year so far. It is also going to be almost a year to the date of my last loss , also in texas, to another ultimate fighter winner, Efrain Escudero. The last thing i want to be known for is that guy who wins some and loses some in the UFC and is cannon fodder for TUF winners. Therefor I am going to train extremely hard for this fight. I am already in pretty decent shape and I will begin my official Training camp on wed. , exactly two months from the fight date. Be sure to purchase tickets to the event and get other event details at http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=EventDetail.home&eid=3608. The fight will be aired live on Spike TV so those of you that can not make it be sure to tune in.

Astra Event- Day 4 in tokyo

20100426100651_100425_1957282.jpg

This day was a day of mixed emotions. We had to all get in the bus at 11:15 am and took the bus to the venue, Nippon Budokan, very close to the emperors palace. Upon getting there was a big wait an all day affair. I wrapped Micah's hands quite some time later. Afterward i jumped in Jorge Masvidal's corner. He had a tough wait cut and was concerned about his gas tank, and really didnt fire off like he should have. After losing the first round, he had a close second that on think he won against 2x ufc veteran Kotani. The 3rd round he dug deep and put the ass whooping down, and did enough to win a split decision to the hometown guy. That's virtually unheard of, it helped alot that he has fought there 5 times. Congrats to Jorge, way to represent!

Astra Event- Day 3 in tokyo

DSC01517.JPG

Day 3 here in Tokyo, the most dreaded one.....Weight cutting day. Because of being stressed with the weight micah cuts, i just relax while he goes and does the cut. Blake is a big help in this regard. He stays with Micah and cuts weight with him. The weight is 65kg which is 143 pounds. weigh ins were at 12, They had to stop the cut early to make it there, he was 200 grams over, so we had to go cut more. It only took about 15 minutes to get rid of the weight but upon the re weigh in he was 65.0kg on the dot. Good Job Micah! Jorge had a little bit of a harder time. But upon making the weight, both guys were able to rehydrate. Our dad came into town as well, and we all went out for some dinner (italian). We came home and got to bed earlyish. This day seems like we did the least but really this is the day the most goes on and where the fighters work the hardest. The hard work is over now, all he has to do is fight. Oh yeah what did Micah weigh this morning?164! thats 21 pounds :). I hate it for Omigawa, well we're just about to go to the fight, I'll post something after the fight is over on here. thanks for everyone's support. ATT!

Astra Event- Day 2 in tokyo

DSC01457.JPG

OK so day two, Friday, was a little busier. We started off the day with going to the breakfast buffet which is awesome here at the east 21 tokyo hotel. Blake and I opted to get in a good morning training session in by training some brazilian jiu jitsu in the gi for about an hour. While Blake and I were training, Micah was doing his photo shoot/video interviews, and actually recorded a ringtone that will be available at astra-official.com, that says "hey this is micah miller from american top team, answer the phone before i kick you in the head."After the training, We then walked around the hotel for a bit before having to get back with Micah and attend the mandatory Rules meeting. It was extremely long and boring, as everyone knew the rules, but this is something most events due anyways, just in case there are any questions. Micah tried on the gloves that he would be wearing and that concluded the meeting.

Astra Event- Day 1 in tokyo

DSC01437.JPG

So were here with Micah again in Tokyo for his bout with Michihiro Omigawa(top ten ranked featherweight). Not much went on today, we got to the Narita Airport and got in a van and it took about an hour for us to get to the hotel. We are staying in the east 21 tokyo hotel near kinschiko train station again. We were here last march for DREAM when micah fought Maeda. So again not much on went on for day 1 once we arrived and checked in we got settled and got some water and food and bare essentials. Then we went to the training room. Micah had some weight to cut so we took care of that by doing some pad rounds. Also our good friend and teammate Jorge Masvidal is fighting on the card. I was able to work with him on the ground some to help him lose some weight. The theme of this ASTRA card is Hidehiko Yoshida's retirement bout (famous japanese judoka) as well as DREAM VS SENGOKU. That's why Micah and Jorge are on the card, both organizations agreed to lend out their fighters, while still fighting on their pre existing contracts, Micah being from DREAM, and Masvidal being from SENGOKU. Both guys feel incredibly sharp. Micah was tired so he went to bed while me , blake bowman, and jorge all sat around and talked for a bit. then it was lights out after such a long day.

MMA is Dangerous, If you cant handle it, STOP WATCHING

_OkAll.jpg

Recently the ending of the Rousimar "Toquinho" Palhares vs. Tomasz Drawl has brought about some discussion. Many are saying that Palhares was in the wrong and should be fired for holding onto the heelhook that may have torn Drawlsz' knee. They are saying that someone should let go of a hold as soon as the opponent taps, and that fighters should think of the other person's safety. This is FUCKING RETARDED. IT'S A CAGE FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. The referee shouldve done a better job of stopping the fight. Safety is the referees Job in the equation, It's the fighters job to make his opponent very UNsafe.

2. For those out there who have never fought in the cage, its a very intense high stress environment for most. When you grab onto an ankle for a footlock, the goal isnt to make the opponent tap out like it might be with your training partner in the gym. The hold is meant to take the opponent out of the fight so he can no longer continue. You can clearly see that Palhares was focused on the foot, he didnt make eye contact with his opponent while he was tapping and then maliciously continue to torque it. He was focused on the move to inflict maximum damage to finish the fight. Refer to point#1 for anything else after.

the archer will destroy us all

Hey everyone I just wanted to show some of the awesome artwork i bought from Trey Moseley. My brother had told me he was an insane artist as well as a photographer so i just had to check it out and see for myself. Needless to say I ended up leaving with two of his pieces. Below you'll be able to see the pictures. The pieces i bought are called "the archer will destroy us all " and " I overshadow God's Grace." Really good stuff. If you're interested in seeing more of his work or contacting him to purchase some he can be reached at http://www.myspace.com/treyography and http://www.flickr.com/photos/treyography/.
