Miller vs. Pearson official !

It's official. On September 15, 2010 I am going to take on British, Ultimate Fighter winner, Ross Pearson. The fight will take place on UFC's Ultimate Fight Night 22 in Austin Texas. Ross is primarily a striker and has improved remarkably with every fight going 3-0 in the UFC since his stint on the ultimate fighter. This Fight comes after my last victory over dan lauzon at UFC 108 , where i nailed submission of the night honors and is sitting right now at the UFC's top submission of the year so far. It is also going to be almost a year to the date of my last loss , also in texas, to another ultimate fighter winner, Efrain Escudero. The last thing i want to be known for is that guy who wins some and loses some in the UFC and is cannon fodder for TUF winners. Therefor I am going to train extremely hard for this fight. I am already in pretty decent shape and I will begin my official Training camp on wed. , exactly two months from the fight date. Be sure to purchase tickets to the event and get other event details at http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=EventDetail.home&eid=3608. The fight will be aired live on Spike TV so those of you that can not make it be sure to tune in.

Big thanks to Matt Arroyo

DSC01714.JPG

On behalf of ATT i wanted to thank Matt for being such a good host. This past weekend for my brother Micah's fight, Matt opened the doors to his gym for myself and about 10 other ATT members for group training. We did 10 x5 minute rounds of grappling and 3 rounds of boxing. The guy is all class and has a high skill level as well. If anyone is ever in the Tampa area they should stop by his location Gracie Tampa south. check out their website at www.gracietampa.com. Ossuuuuuu!

Cole makes #1 spot in UFC's top 5 unofficial half year submissions

finish.jpg

for the 3rd year in a row i made the top half year submissions. UFC.com had this to say "You don’t get to see an inverted reverse triangle / kimura combination too often, but when you do, it’s a thing of beauty – well, it is for anyone watching, not for the one on the receiving end of it. So when Cole Miller showed off his mat wizardry against Dan Lauzon, New England’s “Upgrade” had no choice but to tap. In the process, Miller pulled off the most impressive submission of the half-year, and it will be a tough one to top over the next five-plus months."

Very Proud To Say that Blake Bowman....

photo.jpg

Is now a Purple Belt. He got promoted tonight by our good friend, and obviously BJJ black belt , Saul. Blake has definitely put the time in and at the very least made gi training a once a week thing but has really cranked it up over the past few months. Were all very proud of him. Heres a pic we took in Pittsburgh quite some time ago, it only seems appropriate now that he has it.

Gulf Coast Oil spill

ixtox1.jpg

Alright im really pissed off about this. One could go into conspiracy theories and reasons why this happened, but it doesnt matter why this happened noone seems to be doing anything about it. When the earthquakes happened in Chile and Haiti everyone was on the grammy's talking about saving these countries, Starbucks had donation buckets, shit even in the mma community people were doing charity seminars to save countries that have nothing to do with us. I saw commercials for Red cross all over the place, Top athletes twittering to donate to this or that. Sure Noone has died from this, but were going to feel short and long term affects big time by this, and its getting 1/10 the media coverage than things that were happening in a different part of the world. Ridiculous! Our beaches are going to be destroyed, Coastal businesses are going to go out of business, wildlife is going to suffer and none of these actors/athletes/politicians/artists want to do anything to save our own homeland. But hey i can wait till the next flood kills two people and destroys a square block in australia....Itll be a Media Frenzy, and everyone will want to help. God bless the USA. I wish wed just ride bicycles or solar powered vehicles, or hydro vehicles. If anyone out there is doing anything to help out with what's happened to the gulf coast , please inform me about it , Thanks.

UFC 114 and Fan expo

DSC01637.JPG
I was recently at the 2010 UFC Fan expo as well as UFC 114 in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was doing some signings for the UFC and Century Martial Arts, and the turnout was amazing. I ended up signing alongside Roy Nelson on day one, and next to Vitor Belfort and Frank Mir on day two. Rashad Evans ended up beating Rampage Jackson in the Main event of a decent card. John Hatthaway surprised many with his win over Diego Sanchez. He has a bright future ahead of him at just 22 years old. My friend Todd Duffee had a good showing only to come up short after dominating for 2 1/2 rounds and being knocked out with one punch in the 3rd. We all know Todd will come back better than ever. No one from American Top Team had a fight on this card but we were in full force at the convention with Thiago Alves, Din Thomas, Roan Jucao Carneiro, Brad Pickett, Mike Brown, Micah Miller, and Jeff Monson as well. Thanks Big thanks to everyone that came out to support the UFC as well as Tapout and Century.
